About Me

When I'm not teaching secondary language arts, riding my bike, hiking in the woods, or spending time with my partner, Jennie, and our cat, Bridget, I occasionally take photographs. Sometimes I even take photographs while hiking in the woods or spending time with my life partner and our cat.

The camera was a combined birthday and holiday gift from my parents, Jennie, her parents, her brother Rob, and his partner, Kristen. The goal was to give me an escape route from a pedagogy filled mind so I could focus on something else when hiking, et cetera. It worked.

Shortly after receiving this awesome gift, I suggested to Rob (an accomplished photographer) that we try out a photo-a-day project I had seen Karl (also a teacher) do. Rob agreed and has spend each day serving me a slab of my hind-quarters since February of 2011. He never missed a day. I adjusted my own personal rules to allow for make-up pictures.

This year, I'm doing the project again, once again allowing for make-up pictures. Which is a good thing, because my record for this year has been pretty dismal.
